The Civil Rights Act of 1964 expressly banned discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in employment practices; ended unequal application of voter registration requirements; and prohibited racial segregation in schools, at the workplace, and in public accommodations.

Civil rights movement was started in USA in 1954 And lasted still 1968. It refferd to a set of events and social reforms that would abolish racial discrimination in USA.

It was led by Martin Luther King Jr. to fight against the social divisions made for the African-Americans.

It practiced non- violence methods and civil disobedience which created crisis situations between government authorities and activists.
