Three different contraceptive methods are:-

✔ NATURAL METHOD

● It includes:

a. Periodic abstinence: Ovulation occurs roughly about the middle of menstrual cycle. Menstruation before ovulation is safe.

b.Withdrawal method: The method is based on withdrawal of the external male genitalia before ejaculation.

c. Lactational amenorrhoea: It is the phase of absence of menstruation just after parturition. Breast feeding the child fully prevwnts conception.


✔CHEMICAL METHODS:

● It includes spermicide like creams, foam tablets etc.

✔ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES:

● The pills are taken by women orally for 21 days in a menstrual cycle starting from 5th day and ending on 25th day.

● SAHELI a new contraceptive oral pill for the females was developed in CDRI in Lucknow, India.

● Other examples includes: Mala D, Mala L, triquilar, etc.
