leaves are green because they contain the green pigment which is called chlorophyll leaves also contain different types of pigment but the quantity of the green pigment is more that is why the leave is in green colour if the pigment will increase into yellow then the live will change their colour from Green to yellow but due to scientific reason the leaf contain green pigment
