Given:-

• Suhail's age is three times his son's age.

• Ten years ago he was five times his son's age

To find :-

Suhail and Suhail's son present age

Solution:-

Let the present age of Suhail's son be x years

Therefore the present age of Suhail will be 3x

As per the given question we have,

Age of Suhail ten years ago = 5 × age of Suhail's son ten years ago

Therefore

(3x \: - \: 10 \:) = \: 5x \: (x \: - 10)

3x \: - \: 10 \: = \: 5x \: - \: 50

3x \: - \: 10 \: + 50 = 5x

 - 10 + 50 = 5x - 3x

40 = 2x

 \frac{40}{2} = \: x

20 \: = \: x

So Present age of Suhail's son

 = x = 20

Present age of Suhail will be

3x \: = 3 \times 20 = 60
