The correct statement must be - I am an honest girl .

While using articles , we should keep in mind that

1) An is used in from the words which sound like vowel . They should be sounding words . For example here we can see honest . 'h' is not a vowel but still when we spell it it is said as 'Onest'

Like you could hear o which is a vowel and thus we use 'an' before it .
