Carbon dioxide have no dipole because it has a linear shape and dipole moment of each pair cancel each other whereas in sulphur dioxide

the dipole is present because in the linear shape of sulphur dioxide their are also lone pairs present in sulphur dioxide because lone pair creates dipole which is the reason for dipole interaction.
