Sulphur particles in a mixture of iron and sulphur dissolve in carbon disulphide. However the sulphur particles in iron sulphide do not dissolve. Give reasons for your answer.

⚫Thus, sulphur dissolves in carbon disulphide. However, iron sulphide is a compound in which iron and sulphur do not retain their individual properties.

⚫Hence, Sulphur and iron sulphide does not dissolve in carbon disulphide.
