In vapour state sulphur partly exists as S2 molecule and S2 molecule like O2 has two unpaired electrons in the anti bonding , orbital and hence exhibit paramagnetism. ... Dinitrogen (N2) IS formed by sharing three electron pairs between two nitrogen atoms. The two nitrogen atoms are joined by triple bond(N≡N).

Sulphur in vapour state exhibits paramagnetism. In vapour state, sulphur partly exists as S2 molecule and has two unpaired electrons like O2 in the antibonding π-orbital. Hence, exhibits paramagnetism.
