Sulphuric acid can be used in the preparation of hydrogen chloride but not for preparation of hydrogen iodide. Why?

because HCl requires hydrogen and chlorine in the chemical reaction for it's formation which are present in sulphuric acid (h2So4) were as iodine required for the formation of hydrogen iodide is not present in sulphuric acid
