In the reaction

CuSo4 + Fe ⸻➤Cu + FeSo4 .

  • A reaction in which a more active element displaces less reactive element ( Fe displaces Cu from CuSo4 solution) from its compound present in dissolved state .

  • It is also known as Displacement reaction.
