a x² + b x + c
- sum of zeroes = - coefficient of x / coefficient of x² = -b / a
- product of zeroes = constant term/ coefficient of x² = c / a
Solution :
Comparing given polynomial x² - 4 x + 3 with a x² + b x + c
we will get,
- a = 1
- b = -4
- c = 3
so,
→ sum of zeroes = - b / a
→ sum of zeroes = - ( - 4 ) / ( 1 )
→ sum of zeroes = 4 / 1
→ sum of zeroes = 4
and,
→ product of zeroes = c / a
→ product of zeroes = 3 / 1
→ product of zeroes = 3
therefore,
- Sum and product of zeroes of polynomial x² - 4 x + 3 is 4 and 3 respectively .
