Answer:

let the two numbers be  't' and 'r'

t + r = 145 (given)

t-r=55 ( given)

on adding , we get,

(t +r )+ (t-r) = 145 + 55

or, t+r+t-r = 200

or, t +t+r-r=200

or, 2t=200

or , t = 200/2

or, t =100

now, we know that, t +r= 145

therefore, 100+ r = 145

or, r= 145 -100

or, r =45

Answer:

Let the two numbers be x and y, where x > y⤵️

By the given data, x+y=55       ▫️(1)

                       x−y=7           ▫️ (2)

Equation (2) becomes, x=7+y       ▫️  (3)

Substituting x in (1) we get, 7+y+y=55

⇒2y=55−7=48

∴y=248=24

Substituting y = 24 in (3) we get, x=7+24=31.

∴ The required two numbers are 31 and 24.
