Answer:

heya mate ☺

Let the other rational number by x.

According to the question :

x + (  \frac{ - 13}{6} ) =  - 5 \\  \\  =  > x -  \frac{13}{6}  =  - 5 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{6x - 13}{6}  =  - 5 \\  \\  =  > 6x - 13 =  - 30 \\  \\  =  > 6x =  - 30 + 13 \\  \\  =  > 6x =  - 17 \\  \\  =  > x =  \frac{ - 17}{6}

So the other number would be -17 / 6

Verification of my answer :

  \frac{ - 17}{6}  + ( \frac{ - 13}{6} ) \\  \\  =   \frac{ - 17}{6}  -  \frac{13}{6}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 17 - 13}{6}  \\  \\  =   \frac{ - 30}{6}  \\  \\  =   - 5

hope it helps u
