Let one number be M and another number be N.
=> M + N = 35
=> M = 35 - N ________(eq 1)

=> M - N = 13
=> (35 - N) - N = 13 [From (eq 1)]
=> 35 - N - N = 13
=> - 2N = 13 - 35
=> - 2N = - 22
