Given: A number 'x' and 3 are to be added.

To find: The value after subtracting the sum of 3 and x from 12.

Solution: we have to subtract the sum of 3 and 'x' from 12.

We assume that there is a number y which is the sum of 'x' and 3 such that:-

y= 3+x

Now as it is given in the question we have to find the value after subtracting the sum of 3 and x(assumed to be y here) from 12.

Hence

value= 12-y

value= 12- (3+x)

value= 9-x

Hence the value after subtracting the sum of 3 and x from 12 comes out to be  '9-x'.
