Let the three terms in AP be
a – d, a, a + d.
So, a – d + a + a + d = 3
or a = 1
Also, (a – d) (a + d) = a + 8
i.e., a2 – d 2 = a + 8
i.e., 1– d2 = 1+ 8
i.e., - d 2 = 9-1=8
i.e., d = - 4
So there will be two APs and they are : 5,4,3...
