ANSWER:

THE NUMBER IS 10(2) + 7 = 20 +7 = 27

ASSUMPTION

Let the number in unit place be y and the number in tenth place in y.

Hence the number be 10x + y

GIVEN:

x + y = 9------->A

10y + x = 45 + 10x + y

9x - 9y + 45 = 0

DIVIDE BY 9 ON BOTH SIDES

x - y = - 5--------->B

ADD A AND B

2x = 4

x = 2

SUBSTITUTE x = 2 in A

2 + y = 9

y = 7

THE NUMBER IS 10(2) + 7 = 20 +7 = 27

VERIFICATION:

THE INTERCHANGED NUMBER

10(7) + 2 = 72

72 - 27 = 45
