let x be the tens digit and y be the ones digit

then, original number= 10x+y(10*x+1*y)

number obtained by inter changing the digits=10y+x

given, sum of two digit number and the number obtained by inter changing the digits=44

i.e 10x+y+10y+x=44

11x+11y=44

11(x+y)=44

x+y=4

therefore, sum of the digits of the number =4
