Let present age of mom=x years and that of daughter = y years.

Given: x+y = 60......(1)

After 15 years, mom age will be (x+15) and that of her daughter will be (y+15).

By question, (x+15) =2(y+15).......(2)

Or,x+15=2y+30

Or,x-2y=15

Or, (60-y)-2y =15. (Using equation 1)

Or,60-3y =15

Or,3y =45

Therefore, y=45/3 =15 years

Putting this value of y in (1), we get

x+15=60

Or, x =60-15 =45 years.

Therefore present ages of mother (x)=45 years and that of daughter(y) =15 years.
