Answer:

Let the age of son 5 years ago be x years.

So the father's age at that time was 6x years

Their present ages will be (x+5) and (6x+5) respectively.

The sum of their present ages is given as 45

So, we have

(x+5) + (6x+5) = 45

or x+5+6x+5 = 45

or 7x+10 = 45

or 7x = 45 - 10 = 35

or x = 5

So the present age of son is x+5 or 10 years

and the present age of father is 6x+5 or 35 years

Answer:

x+ y = 45

x+15 = 2 (y+15)

x+ 15 = 2y + 30

x +2y = 15

45 - x = 15

x = dd

present age is 35 and 10
