Let the ages of Monali and Sonali be x and y respectively.
Then, age of Monali = x years
and, age of Sonali = y years.
Now according to question,
x + y = 29
and, y - x = 3
so, 2y = 32
y = 16
and y - x = 3
= -x = -16 + 3
= x = 13
Hence the age of Monali is 13 years and the age of Sonali is 16 years.

By solving above equations,
We get,
y = 16
