then, P + D = 40 yrs --------(1)

Priya is older than Deepa by 14 yrs -

P = D + 14 -------(2)

substitute the P value in the equation 1

D + 14 + D = 40

2D + 14 = 40

2D = 40 - 14 = 26

D = 26/2 = 13 yrs

So, Deepa is 13yrs old

Now substitute the value of D in equation 2

P = D + 14

= 13 + 14 = 27 yrs

Hence, Priya's age is 27yrs n

Deepa's age is 13yrs
