Hey

Here is ur answer

Let the side of two squares be x and y respectively
So
According to question

x2+y2= 340➖ (1)

and
4x-4y= 8
x-y= 2➖ 2
y= x-2➖ 3
Put y= x-2 in equation 1
We get
x2+ (x-2)2= 340
x2+ x2-4x+4 =340
2x2-4x= 336
x2-2x= 168
x2- 2x- 168= 0
x2- 14x+12x-168=0
x(x-14)+12(x-14)=0
(x+12)(x-14)=0
x= -12 and x=14
x= -12 is neglected because side can't be negative
So x= 14 is correct

Put x=14 in equation 3
We get
14-2=y
y= 12

Sides of squares are 14m and 12m />
Hope it helps you
