Let digit at one place = x

:. digit at tens place = 8-x

:. original number

= 10(8-x) + 1(x)

= 80-10x + x

= 80-9x

Interchanged number -:

One's place = 8-x

Ten's place= x

:. New number

= 10(x)+1(8-x)

= 10x + 8-x

=9x+8

A.T.Q

(80-9x) + 18 = 9x+8

80-9x = 9x+8 - 18

-9x-9x= 8-18-80

-18x = -10-80

-18x = -90

18x = 90

x = 90/18

x= 5

:. Original number

Digit at one's place = x = 5

Digit at ten's place = 8-x = 8- 5 = 3

Hence, the original number = 35

I Hope it will help you.
