Answer:

Let the ones place be x

so the tens place is 8-x

So, the number is 10(8-x) + x

= 80-10x+x

= 80-9x (original number)

After interchanging the digits,

ones place = 8-x

tens place = x

So, the number became 10x+8-x

= 9x+8 (interchanged number)

So, according to the question,

80 - 9x + 18 = 9x + 8

98 - 9x = 9x + 8

 - 9x - 9x = 8 - 98

 - 18x =  - 90

x =  \frac{ - 90}{ - 18}

x = 5

So, the original number is 80-(9 x 5)

= 80-45

= 35

The original number is 35

hope it helps
