Answer:

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 146

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 1463X + 3 = 146

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 1463X + 3 = 1463X + 3 - 3 = 146 - 3

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 1463X + 3 = 1463X + 3 - 3 = 146 - 33X = 143

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 1463X + 3 = 1463X + 3 - 3 = 146 - 33X = 1433X/3 = 143/3

X + X + 1 + X + 2 = 1463X + 3 = 1463X + 3 - 3 = 146 - 33X = 1433X/3 = 143/3X = 47 2/3

Given :-

  • Sum of four consecutive numbers = 146

To Find :-

  • The numbers.

Solution :-

Assume that

First number = x

Second number = x + 1

Third number = x + 2

Fourth number = x + 3

Making an Equation -

\longrightarrow x + (x+1) + (x+2) + (x+3) = 146

\longrightarrow 4x + 6 = 146

\longrightarrow 4x = 146 - 6

\longrightarrow 4x = 140

\longrightarrow x = \sf\cancel{\dfrac{140}{4}}

x = 35

At the end -

First number = x = 35

Second number = x + 1 = 36

Third number = x + 2 = 37

Fourth number = x + 3 = 38

\therefore Those four numbers are 35, 36, 37 and 38
