QUESTION :- Sum of first 'n' positive integers.

SOLUTION :-

 \sf{S_n = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + till \: n \:  term}

Here,

a (First Term) = 1

d (Common Difference) =  \sf{a_2 - a_1} = 2 - 1 = 1

Using the formula of sum of nth terms,

 \sf{S_n =  \frac{n}{2}[2a + (n - 1)d]} \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \sf{=  \frac{n}{2}[2(1) + (n - 1)(1)]} \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \sf{=  \frac{n}{2}[2 + n - 1]} \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = \sf{ \frac{n}{2}[n + 1]}

 \therefore \sf \green{S_n} =  \red{\frac{n(n + 1)}{2}}
