Given:

3 children Sonal, Priya and Prachi

Amount received by Sonal = \frac{1}{6}th of sum

Amount received by Priya = \frac{1}{8}th of sum

To find:

Amount that Prachi should give to Priya.

Solution:

Let sum of money be x.

Sonal received \frac{x}{6} and Priya received \frac{x}{8}.

Remaining amount received by Prachi

= x-(\frac{x}{6}+\frac{x}{8})=x-(\frac{4x+3x}{24})=\frac{24x-7x}{24}=\frac{17x}{24}

Let S be Sonal, P be Priya and C be Prachi.

if, C = 1950 + S

\frac{17x}{24}=1950+\frac{x}{6}

\frac{17x}{24}-\frac{x}{6}=1950

\frac{17x}{24}-\frac{4x}{24}=1950

\frac{13x}{24}=1950

x=\frac{1950*24}{13}=3600

Total sum = 3600

Sonal's amount = \frac{x}{6}=\frac{3600}{6}=600$

Priya's amount = \frac{x}{8}=\frac{3600}{8}=450$

Prachi's amount = 3600-(600+450)=2550$

If Prachi's amount should be twice as much as Priya,

then, Prachi = 2 × Priya = 2 × 450 = 900$

Amount of money Prachi should give Priya = 2550-900=1650$

Amount of money Prachi should give to Priya if Prachi has twice as much as Priya is 1650$
