Let the present age of ram be x.

and present age of shyam be y.

Now,

Given first condition,

 \bf \to \: x + y = 39 \: yrs. \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \bf \:  \:  \: x = 39 - y....eq.1

Given second condition,

Three years ago,

Ram age = x -3

Shyam age = y-3

 \to \bf x-3 =2 (y -3)\\  \to \bf \: 39-y-3 = 2y-6....(from \: eq.1) \\  \bf \to \: 36 = 3y -6\\  \bf \to \: y =  \frac{42}{3}

 \small \to {\boxed {\tt \blue {y = 14 }}} \\

Putting y = 14,

 \bf \to \: x + y = 39 \\ \bf \to x = 39 - 14

 \small \to {\boxed {\tt \blue {x= 25 }}} \\

So,

  \sf  x = age \: of \: ram = 14} \\ \sf \:  and \:  \:  \underline{y = age \: of \: shyam \:  = 25

 \bf \therefore  Ages- \\ \underline{\bf \: \: \: \: \bullet x = age \: of \: ram = 14} \\ \bf \: \: \: \: \underline{\bullet x = age \: of \: shyam = 25}

Given ,

  • The sum of present age of ram and sham is 39

  • Three years ago , the ram was twice the age of sham

Let , the present age of ram and sham be x and y

According to the question ,

x + y = 39 --- (i)

and

x - 3 = 2(y - 3)

x = 2y - 3 --- (ii)

From eq (i) and eq (ii) , we get

2y - 3 + y = 39

3y - 3 = 39

3y = 42

y = 14

Put the value of y = 14 in eq (i) , we get

x + 14 = 39

x = 25

 \therefore \sf \underline{The \:  present \:  ages \:  of  \: ram  \: and  \: sham  \: 25 \:  years \: and  \: 14 \: years \: }
