Also,

( x - 3 ) = 4 ( y - 3 )

x - 3 = 4y - 12

x = 4y - 9

5y = 40

y = 8

Put this in ( 1 ), we get

x = 31 - 8

x = 23

Hence,

Ram's age = 23 yrs

Raju's age = 8 yrs
