To find sum rational numbers, \frac{-15}{35}\:and\:\frac{-12}{12} we have to make the denominators of rational numbers equal. For making them equal we have to find LCM.

LCM = 420.

 \frac{ - 15}{35}  \times  \frac{12}{12}  =  \frac{ - 180}{420}  \\  \frac{ - 12}{12}  \times  \frac{35}{35}  =  \frac{ - 420}{420}  \\   \frac{ - 180}{420} and \:   \frac{ - 420}{420}

Now we can find the sum of rational numbers \frac{-180}{420} \:and \: \frac{-420}{420}

 \frac{ - 180}{420}  -  \frac{ - 420}{420}  \\  =   \frac{ - 180 - ( - 420)}{420} \\   = - 180 - ( - 420) \\  =  - 180 + 420 \\  =  - 600  \: or \:  \frac{ - 600}{420}   \: or \:  1 \frac{ - 160}{420}
