Sum of roots of a quadratic equation is double their product. Find 'k' if the equation is 4kx + k + 3 = 0

Compare x² - 4kx + ( k + 3 ) = 0 with

ax² + bx + c = 0 we get ,

a = 1 ,

b = - 4k ,

c = ( k + 3 ),

1 ) sum of the Roots = - b/a

= - ( - 4k )/1

= 4k

2 ) product of the roots = c/a

= ( k + 3 )/1

= k + 3

according to the problem given ,

4k = 2( k + 3 )

4k = 2k + 6

4k - 2k = 6

2k = 6

k = 6/2

k = 3
