Sum of square of two no is 100.one no is 2 more than the other

Let one no. be x , then other no. x+2

According to question ,

⇒ X² + (X+2)² = 100

⇒ X² + ( X² + 4 + 2.2.X) = 100

⇒ X² + ( X² + 4X + 4 ) = 100

⇒ 2X² + 4X = 100 - 4

⇒ 2X² + 4X = 96

⇒ X² + 2X = 48

⇒ X² + 2X - 48 = 0

⇒ X² + ( 8-6)X - 48 = 0

⇒ X² + 8X - 6X - 48 = 0

⇒ X( X+8) - 6(X+8) = 0

⇒ (X+8) × (X-6) = 0

⇒ X=( -8 ) & X = 6

Since the positive no. is asked . So we have one no. as 6 and the Other 8.

The answer is 6 & 8 .
