and the age of Swati be y
x+y = 31 ....equation 1
4(x+3)= y+3 ....equation 2
by solving these two equations you will get the required answer .

x-3=4y-12
×-4y=-9--------(1)
their sum of age 31
x+y=31----------(11)
1 and 2 equistion is
y=8
manisha age (8+3)=11
