TO FIND:

  • What were their ages ?

SOLUTION:

Let, the age of A's as 6x

and the age of B's as 5x

Now,

 \mathbb{ACCORDING  \: TO  \: QUESTION}

It is given that the sum of their ages will be 55 years

So,

 \sf⇨6x + 5x = 55

 \sf⇨11x = 55

 \sf⇨x =  \frac{55}{11}

 \sf⇨x =  \frac{ \cancel{55}}{ \cancel{11} } = 5

So, x = 5

Hence, age of A's will be = 6x = 6×5 = 30 years

and, age of B's will be = 5x = 5×5 = 25 years

VERIFICATION

\sf \to 30+25=55

\sf \to 55=55

Here, L.H.S = R.H.S
