Sum of the ages of three brothers born at intervals of 2 years is 60. What is the age of the youngest brother?

Let the age of the youngest brother be 'x'.

It is given that, the difference of ages between each successive brother is 2 years.

So x is the age of younger brother, x + 2 is the age of second younger brother and x + 4 is the age of the eldest brother.

So adding up all we get 60 as the sum.

=> x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 60

=> 3x + 6 = 60

=> 3x = 60 - 6

=> 3x = 54

=> x = 54 / 3 = 18

Hence the age of the youngest brother is 18 years.
