Let Alam's age be 'x' years old.

2 years ago:-                                                                                                                   2 * Rajesh (age) = Alam (age)                                                                                         2x = x

Present:-
(2x + 2) + (x + 2) = 22  |  (2 was added beacuse thsi happened 2 years after the)                                        (measurement was taken)   

2x + 2 + x + 2 = 22
3x + 4 = 22
3x = 22 - 4 = 18                 (transposing 4 to R.H.S.)
x = 18 / 3                           (transposing 3 to R.H.S.)
x = 6 years

Present Age of Rakesh = 2x + 2 = (2*6) + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14 years
