The number is 57

Given - Sum and relation between the digits

Find - Number

Solution - Let the number at one's place be x and number at ten's place be y. The number will be - 10y + x.

Now, forming the first equation -

10y + x = 12

Forming second equation -

x = 2 × 10y - 3

x = 20y - 3

Keeping the value of x form second equation in first equation

New equation will be -

10y + 20y - 3 = 12

30y = 12 + 3

30y = 15

y =  \frac{15}{30}

y = 0.5

Finding x by keeping the value of y in second equation

x = 20 × 0.5 - 3

x = 10 - 3

x = 7

So, the number will be = 10 × 0.5 at ten's place and 7 at unit's place

Number = 5 at ten's place and 7 at unit's place

Number = 57

Hence, the number is 57.
