AnsweR :-

  • The number is 84

SolutioN :-

Let the Tenth digit of required number is x and unit digit be y

The number = (10x + y)

Given -

x + y = 12

y = 12 - x --------(i)

The given number exceeds the number

exceeds the numberobtained by interchanging the digits by 36

Given number = 10x + y

Interchanged number = 10y + x

A/q ,

10x + y = 10y + x + 36

10x - x + y - 10y = 36

9x - 9y = 36

9(x - y) = 36

x - y = 36/9

x - y = 4

putting the value of y from equation (i) -

x - (12-x) = 4

x - 12 + x = 4

2x = 4+12

2x = 16

x = 16/2

\huge{\boxed{\sf x=8}}

Putting the value of x into equation (i) -

y = 12 - x

y = 12 - 8

\huge{\boxed{\sf y=4}}

The digit = 10x + y

= 10 × 8 + 4

= 80 + 4

= 84

So the number is 84.
