Let the digit at units place be X.

Then the digit at tens place =9-x

Original number =10(9-x) +x

90-9x

After interchanging,

Digit at units place=9-x

Digit at tens place=x

New number =10x+9-x=9x+9

Acc. To question,

(9x+9)-(90-9x)=27

9x+9-90+9x=27

18x-81=27

18x=27+81=108

X=108/18=6

& 9-x=9-6=3

So the original number is 36
