Let the required fraction be x/y.

x+y=12

And, x/(y+3)=1/2. (eq-1)

→2x=y+3

→2x-y=3

On adding 1 and 2, we get x=5.

On putting x=5 in eq-1, we get y=7.

Therefore, the required fraction is 5/7.

I hope now you how to solve the problem. It was a pleasure to help you. Thank you and please mark me the brainliest.
