2 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 5 = 0

2 {x}^{2}   - 2x + 5x  + 5 = 0

2x(x - 1)  -  5(x  - 1) = 0

(2x - 5)(x - 1) = 0

x =  \frac{5}{2} \: or \:  x = 1

 \frac{5}{2}  + 1

 =  \frac{9}{2}
