let the first even number be x

next even number will be (x+2)

according to question

x²+(x+2)²=100

x²+x²+4+4x=100

2x²+4x-96=0

x²+2x-48=0

x²+8x-6x-48=0

x(x+8)-6(x+8)=0

(x-6)(x+8)=0

we get x=6. or -8

if. 6is the first even number then 8 will be next...

if -8 is the first even number then -6 will be next...
