ANSWER:

Given:

  • Sum of 2 angles = 140°
  • Second angle is 7 less than 6 times the first angle

To Find:

  • Both the angles

Solution:

Let first angle be x.

We are given that,

⟹ Second angle is 7 less than 6 times the first angle

That is,

⟹ Second angle = 6x - 7

But, we are also given that,

⟹ Sum of the 2 angles = 140°

So,

⟹ x + 6x - 7 = 140°

⟹ 7x - 7 = 140°

⟹ 7(x - 1)= 140°

⟹ x - 1 = 140/7°

⟹ x - 1 = 20°

⟹ x = 20 + 1

⟹ x = 21°

So, the second angle is,

⟹ 6x - 7 = 6(21) - 7 = 126 - 7 = 119°

Therefore, the angles are 21° and 119°.
