Step-by-step explanation:

let 1st no. be X

and other be Y

by 1st given condition

X+Y =10

X=10-Y ----------------eq(1)

by 2nd condition

X-Y =6--------Eq(2)

now substitute X=10-Y In eq(2)

10-Y -Y = 6

10-2Y =6

-2Y = 6-10

-2Y = -4

Y=2 ####

now place the value of Y in eq(1).

X=10-Y

X=10-2

X=8. ######
