Let age of Manoj be x
Age of Vikram be y

x+y=48________(1)
x=3y_________(2)

Put value from (2)in (1)
3y+y=48
4y=48
Y=48/4=12
Put y in equation (2)
x=3*12=36

So age of Manoj is 36 and age of Vikram is 12years.....

put the value of x in (1) EQUATION
3y+y=48
=>4y=48
