Given

sum of three consecutive integers is 33.

To find

We have to find the middle term

solution

since the integers are not given so,

we will use algebra to find out the integers whose sum is 33.

since , the integers are consecutive we will think one next one e.g., x , x+1 ,x+2 etc.

let the first integer be 'x'

second integer be 'x+1 '

Third integer be 'x+2'

According to the question:

Creating an equation :

⇛ x+x+1+x+2 = 33

Add the variable and integers together:

⇛ 3x +3= 33

simplify :

⇛3x = 33-3

⇛3x=30

⇛x = 30/3 = 10

x= 10

First integer = x= 10

second integer= x+1= 11

Third Integer = x+2= 12

Therefore, the three consecutive integers are 10,11 & 12.

So, the middle number is 11

Correct option d ) 11

Given:-

  • If the answer to a question like this doesn't pop up in your head quickly enough, use the power of mathematical formalism and write it as an equation. Three consecutive integers can be written as n, n+1, n+2, so a suitable equation would be.

To prove:-

  • n + (n+1) + (n+2) = 3

  • 3n + 3 = 33

  • 3n = 30

  • n = 10

Therefore, the integers you're looking for are 10, 11 and 12.
