let the no be=x
x+7,x+14
x+x+7+x+14=357
3x+21=357
by transposing 21 to RHS
3x=357-21
3x=336
by transposing 3 to RHS
x=336/3
x=112
hence the first no =112
the second no is =x+7=112+7=119
the third no is =x+14=112+14=126
I hope this is useful for you ....

Answer:

The smallest multiple of 7 is 112.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The sum of three consecutive multiples of 7 is 357.

To find:

The numbers.

Step 1

Let the 3 consecutive multiples of 7 be $7,(7 x+7),(7 x+14)$ where $x$ is a natural number.

As per the question,

7+(7 x+7)+(7 x+14)=357$$

\Rightarrow 21 x+21=357

Taking 21 as the common term

\Rightarrow 21(x+1)=357

Step 2

Divide both sides by 21,

$\Rightarrow \frac{21(x+1)}{21}=\frac{357}{21}$

\Rightarrow x+1=17

\Rightarrow x=17-1 \text  (transpose 1 to RHS)

therefore x=16

Hence, the smallest multiple of 7 is

$7 \times 16$ =112.
