3 consecutive odd integers if the first is n are

n, n+2 , n+4

therefore,

sum = n + n+2 + n+4

= 3n + 6

Given,

There are three consecutive odd integers.

The representation of first number = n

To find,

The sum of those three consecutive odd integers.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Now,

The difference of two consecutive odd integers, is always 2

For example :

5 and 7 are two consecutive odd integers.

And, (7-5) = 2

Which implies, we need to add 2 with any odd integer, to obtain its next (consecutive) odd integer. (5 = odd integer, (5+2) = 7 = next odd integer.)

Here,

First odd integer = n

Second consecutive odd integer = n+2

Third consecutive odd integer = n+2+2 = n+4

Their sum :

= n+n+2+n+4

= 3n+6

Hence, the sum will be (3n+6)
