Answer -

Let the numbers be 6x and 6(x+1)

6x+ 6x+6 = 186 ( given )

12x+6 = 186

12x = 186-6

12x = 180

x = 180/12 = 15

Thereby, x = 15 and x+1 = 16

Check { Optional }

15*6 = 90

16*6 = 96

And , the sum of 90 and 96 is 186
